A mix of Alan Moore?s Watchmen (though not nearly as dark), Tex Avery?s wacky WB cartoons, and Jack Kirby?s early Marvel comics work The Incredibles wrap up all the basic elements of a good superhero story into a single movie. There?s the disgruntled villain, the conflict of dealing with super-abilities, and most importantly smart alec kids. The most interesting part of The Incredibles (to me at least) was how they were able to show superheros adjusting to everyday ?civilian life? in the working world - I almost liked those scenes better than the fights with the giant robot.
